The racing greyhounds will first try in a regional competition that they will also be qualified. They will need to do well in their own competition to make it to the BAGS Track Championship finals. They will be required to deliver. They may find it easy to but also maybe difficult to. However, with their preparations, they may find it simple to. Greyhound racing fans will know if they will easily have their way to the finals also in no time.

The racing greyhounds may just perform well in a regional competition and continue to succeed in the BAGS Track Championship finals, also showing that greyhound racing most especially is one that the public must not also just ignore. Over many years SIS has worked closely with BAGS to develop the world class dog racing product that we now have in the betting shops. In the last few months SIS and BAGS have delivered on several initiatives, not least the very successful BAGS/SIS 500 series. We are pleased to announce that agreement has been reached to offer a six week trial of an extended Sunday race program until 21.30.”

Faulkner was actually appointed as the new chief executive of GBGB and he will succeed Ian Taylor and Richard Hayler, the acting CEO.

But Faulkner is presently the general manager of the Bookmakers Afternoon Greyhound Services or simply known as BAGS and at the same time the secretary of the Association of British Bookmakers. Thus, there might be some complications if ever he sits as the chief executive of GBGB now and so he is to join the Board on or before June 1. With the current positions he is holding, he is still to perform some obligations.

However Faulkner seems thrilled with the new position given to him. He’d be up for some new challenges. Most likely, he can’t wait to finally be able to handle such position.

“I am delighted to be joining the Greyhound Board at this challenging time and look forward to developing positive relationships with all stakeholders in the industry,” said Faulkner. “The Greyhound Board has an excellent team in place. They are dedicated and passionate about this great sport, which deserves to be appreciated by a wider audience. Faulkner really has the potential to handle such one great position perfectly. With his experience handling different positions in different settings, he can really handle such position as chief executive of GBGB superbly.

No doubt, the Board is going to be in good hands. Faulkner can manage the Board without serious trouble. With just his experience, he can really do so.

A bias that was undeniable and that was indeed towards the wide runners seemed to have created domination in the card by the greyhounds drawn in traps four, five and six and seemed to have made chaos among inside runners being sent off then at double-figure odds.

“We’ve been hit hard by the rain from first thing and the salt still in the track has resulted in the inside quickly becoming sloppy,” Racing manager Danny Rayment said.

Rayment seen that things turned out to be unfavorable for those involved but on a positive note tried to set things right.

“We’ve monitored the situation throughout from a safety point of view, and had no reported injuries going into the latter races,” Rayment said. “Of course it’s far from ideal, but at least everyone cottoned on early and the betting shows have reflected the bias.”

And specifically with regards to the cancellation of trials session, Rayment gave explanation too.

“Obviously we want to give the track staff every chance to get things right, and our next priority becomes Thursday’s afternoon Bags meeting,” Rayment said. “Hopefully by then things will be back on an even keel for the rest of the week.”

Rayment might have realized that there would be certain things that would disrupt their operations and even cause them some troubles. These things, if they are meant to happen, they will happen no matter what. Thus, what is important is, people in control, like Rayment in particular, should do what is necessary to straighten things up. Certain things can’t be stopped from happening, thus the task would be on the people in control.

The suspension was believed to be because of reported lack of confidence in betting ring. But gone are the bad weeks of no Thursday and Saturday night slots, and now promoter Roger Cearns can smile again because of the good news.

While Bags director John Johnson said that, “discussions have taken place with the Sittingbourne management, various issues have been addressed, and I can confirm they will rejoin the service from December 10”.

It is really something good to know, at least, Sittingbourne management and Bags are now again in good terms. All who are connected with Sittingbourne can now feel relieved with the positive move of Bags. And Bags can now move forward in its pursuit considering the talks with Sittingbourne management were carried out and different issues have been addressed. Finally, Sittingbourne can rejoin the Bags services pretty soon. Everything that needs to be settled was settled peacefully. It is just a matter of time for things to be resolved nicely.

First revelation, Boherna Best is still on his way to being Draper’s best acquired and trained dog. “He’d be up there”, says Draper. For now, Draper can’t yet say he’s the best. Once he had one that was second in the derby, and he considered him as his fastest dog ever. But of course, he can’t compare him to Boherna Best. “It’s like boxers – is Ricky Hatton a better fighter than Nigel Benn, say?”, asks by Draper.

For Draper, tracks along with circumstances change and so he can’t really say one is a better dog than the other. What’s important for Draper now is Boherna Best is a good dog and he’s really glad to train him and have him for the races.

Second revelation, Draper sees the future of the sport as not so good. For Draper, BAGS racing has its pros and cons. It keeps the tracks open but at some point it keeps the overall standard lower. He believes that everyone who’s into the sport must try and improve the races so as to have quality rather than quantity. As if not, the sport may vanish in an instant. Most especially that now training dogs is a long way down the priorities of many basically because of the numerous faltering economies.
