The Victorian super stayer, Drill ‘Em, was actually declared recently as AGRA’s Greyhound of the Month for February. He raced well the whole month, in fact was able to give his trainer two race victories. In the MGRA’s Australian Cup carnival, he did well no doubt.
It was February 13 when he had the first victory for David Knocker, his trainer. He earned the Group 2 Zoom Top invitational victory for Knocker. He was able to beat South Australian Satanic Cash in 42.76. And it was a week later when he earned the second victory for the trainer. He got the early lead and raced all the way in the Group 1 Macro Meats Super Stayers Final. At The Meadows, he was able to beat not only one but at least three significant greyhounds in the industry. He recorded a time of 42.53.
Drill ‘Em was not into distance racing before but when he tried to be into it, under the good guidance of Knocker, that was when he started to make a name through certain accomplishments. For the record, he has already contested nine group race finals and has won four of which, all in the field of distance racing.
Drill ‘Em was scheduled prior, to actually be in the Group 1 Sky Channel Galaxy in Perth. The event has been over 715 meters but a lot of greyhound racing fans believed then that it can be handled well by the distance racer. Drill ‘Em was indeed expected to face the likes of Mantra Lad and Blue Lorian at the Final of the Group 1 Sky Channel Galaxy.
Drill ‘Em is a Brindle dog by Texas Gold from Geoff’s Mate (Ashigga x Executive Maggie). And he is actually raced by the Binborrin syndicate and of course trained by Knocker.
