Greyhound stars really traveled to Newcastle for William Hill All England Cup trial. We’ve already mentioned that Ballymac Ruso and Boherna Best made it to and of course even the ones which can be considered as their kennelmates. They were actually the most notable on the track. But just in addition is Pat Flaherty’s Greenwell Viper which set the standard for posting 29.18sec in the top heat at the Cup trial stakes on the evening card.
Matt Dartnall-trained Ballymac Ruso went round in 29.23sec (4.61sec). While Barrie Draper’s charged seemed to have already warmed up for the William Hill All England Cup when he posted a great 28.85sec (-40) in a solo trial on Saturday at Newcastle.
It is just worth mentioning that the Cup title holder during the final of the Cashmans Irish Laurels at Corkseven actually finished third behind Sevenheads Bay, was able to make a smart 4.59sec sectional possible as he tried to accustom himself once again with the track and of course at the same time reacquainted himself with the scene way back in his 2008 victory at the same event. He is anticipated to once again make it at the same track and event.
While Best’s kennelmates also showcased what they got. Farloe Rocket just clocked 29.06sec (4.79sec sectional).
Pat Flaherty’s Greenwell Viper also was not behind in showing some skills. The greyhound actually set the standard for posting 29.18sec in the top heat at the Cup trial stakes on the evening card. Viper led at halfway and powered away just to overcome another in the name of Elwick Joaquin by actually almost five lengths in 29.18sec.
So far, the greyhounds mentioned are the most notable for their performance at William Will All England Cup trial. They made sure being a part of greyhound racing and betting history.
