The Bunyip Gawler Gold Cup of the Gawler Greyhound Racing Club To Draw Large Crowd

The Bunyip Gawler Gold Cup of the Gawler Greyhound Racing Club is likely to draw large crowd. It is anticipated to fill in the whole Gawler Show grounds, this Sunday, November 15.

In the last few years, the event showed significant growth. Thus, it should not be a surprise to everyone if it can draw as many as 1000 people this year.

The main beneficiary is the Rotary Club of Gawler. The entry will simply be a gold coin donation, but notes will be acceptable. The community is likely to benefit from such event.

The event has actually 10 races and plenty of free entertainment. Live band, raffles, dancing demonstration, free rides, face painting for kids, free Hunnie Gifts from Greyhound Hunnies, and of course Father Xmas can be expected.

The race will actually start at 5:34PM, however the gates will open as early as 4PM. There will be a main race or a featured race which will be race 7 at 7.24PM. It will be the Bunyip Gawler Gold Cup. And it is expected to bring in the field some of the best greyhounds of the state.

White Admiral was the winner of the Cup last year and was for owners Tony and Jan Jones as well as Ken Gill. Miss Spicy became also the winner, actually a very controversial winner then, way back in 2005. She won in the Gawler Gold Cup and after was able to win both the Australian Cup and the Adelaide Cup.

For this year, the chance to become the winner of the Cup is for some of the best greyhounds to grab. The Gawler Show grounds this Sunday will surely be filled with great action and high level of fun and excitement. Greyhound racing and betting enthusiasts really should not miss the event.
