Smith Confirmed Support for Stow Return

The Save Our Stow group must have felt relieved after the confirmation of support for Stow return was done by Work & Pensions minister Iain Duncan Smith. The group must have felt confident about greyhound racing returning to the popular site.

The Member of Parliament representing Chingford and Woodford Green recently issued a statement to urge site owners London & Quadrant to try out a deal with SOS and also to say own piece involving Waltham Forest Council.

“I am surprised that L&Q maintain they have had no credible offers or offers which include plans for housing as I know for certain that Save our Stow has provided them with such an offer,” the MP stated. “I am sorry that L&Q has decided not to engage with Save our Stow as some of their proposals are imaginative and clearly cover the issue of mixed usage.”

The MP for Chingford and Woodford Green showed much concern for the issue involving the stow return with the statement actually issued.

“Given that there is a danger the site will fall into serious disrepair, I am calling on the Council to make it clear to L&Q that they must sustain that site as per the original application, and the best way of doing this is to strike a deal with Save our Stow so we can obtain the site for the benefit of the community,” the MP added.

While just like the MP for Chingford and Woodford Green, the newly elected MP for Walthamstow, Stella Creasy also issued a statement on SOS issue.

“There can be no doubt the people of Walthamstow want to see their famous dog track restored and no question of the determination of all of us involved in this campaign to help make that happen,” Creasy stated.
