Now we know who we are going to support as members of the NSW GBOTA Board of Directors as the elections were finalized. There are individuals who have already served as member of the body but there are those who have not and would be new to the job, to being member of the NSW GBOTA Board of Directors.
Sitting Directors Sue Absalom and Richard Bligh as expected were chosen for the Metropolitan District but they will be with Brett Lazzarini who for the first time was elected. To be once again elected, Director and Chairman Bill Mangafas did not succeed. Mr. Mangafas served as a member of the Directorate as well as the Association’s Chairman for many years.
But sitting Directors Jenny Green and Bryan Yong as also expected were selected for the Newcastle & Hunter River District. Gary Minter, Bob Williams and Michael Power failed to be chosen.
Joe Bertinato was elected for the South Coast and Southern Tablelands District. And the successful Bertinato actually defeated Colin Williams.
While Geoff Rose made it for North and North Western, George Hayes for Western District, Joe Cotroneo for Northern Rivers District and Gary Harding for Riverina District.
The likes of Lazzarini, Bertinato and Harding succeeded to become first term Directors. They were luckier then than the others but later we just don’t know if they’d still be. They’d be facing challenges and be greatly pressured. But of course, as long as they’d be happy to serve, they’d be just good. We just hope they’d be well.
On June 19, 2010, there will be a Directors meeting for the selection of Office Bearers for the next two years. Just after more or less two weeks, we would know who will be included in the list of individuals we should actually support.
