Last week at Angle Park, the Race 3, the TattsBett.com National Distance State Heat 1 was declared a “No Race” because of the conflicting distance of the lure from the greyhound on the lead. During the race, jaws of the carriage seemed incorrectly engaging which then displaced the cable and caused the lure driver to lose control.
And after the TattsBett.com National Distance State Heat 1 was declared a “No Race”, the Stewards talked to all trainers and eventually came up with a decision to have a public ballot to determine the State Final qualifiers.
The Stewards then made a public ballot and the four qualifiers for the State Final which will be on August 19 were determined. The reserve was also drawn, the fifth greyhound.
The qualifiers were determined as No Way Aaron, Tafari Bale, Snow Kist, Don’t Tell Kerry and Hannah’s Jinx as the reserve.
Texas Tiger was able to record a time of 44.08 in running fifth in the second Distance Heat and so qualified as reserve. While Hannah’s Jinx was not able to record a time because of event declared as “No Race”. Because Texas Tiger was able to record a time, it was decided that he will be the 1st reserve and then Hannah’s Jinx will be the 2nd reserve.

Some were dismayed with what happened but then at least the Stewards acted immediately to have the State Final qualifiers determined. Trainers were interviewed by the Stewards and eventually it was decided to have a public ballot to determine the State Final qualifiers. And the qualifiers were revealed to be No Way Aaron, Tafari Bale, Snow Kist, Don’t Tell Kerry and Hannah’s Jinx as the reserve.
