Yes, the nominations for the TattsBet.com National Championships officially closed previous Wednesday. And with the nominations being officially closed, every state was given permission to start selecting their representative or representatives for 2010.
An invitation for one representative for every distance was sent to every state. However, the host state will be entitled to two representatives.
And the position left in each Final was set to go to the greyhound that ranked the highest in the AGRA rankings last July 30 and that actually raced in its state Final but then did not make it.
There must be two reserves for every Final and they must come from SA. The greyhounds that would become the reserves would be determined by SA state Finals’ finishing positions.
The heats have already started last week. There were 3 heats for the Sprint 520m enjoyed last August 5 and there was also the Final for the Distance 710m. Of course, there will upcoming events such as the 2 heats for the Distance 725m on August 7 and Final on August 14. There will also be 3 heats for the Sprint 520m on August 7 and Final on August 14. Worth mentioning too are the 2 heats for the Distance 720m still on August 7 and Final on August 14.
The TattsBet.com National Finals will be held at the well-known Angle Park on August 28. And the Sprint and Distance Finals will offer $75,000 each. The winners can take home $50,000.
The Sprint and Distance Finals are definitely not for the states to miss. Their entry to these Finals that can actually make it will get to secure a place in the National Finals. Thus, these Finals are not for them to ignore. They should give these Finals a try for a place in the much-awaited National Finals.
