Mr. Metz Won Group 3 Townsville Cup

Trainer Ron Ball was really happy to see Mr. Metz claiming the victory in the $16,000-to-the-winner Group 3 Townsville Cup of 498m to actually add another Group race win to their already great record. The greyhound actually started as the hot favorite and jumped perfectly from box six to secure the lead and beat Terrific Style. Mr. Metz has beaten Terrific Style by three lengths.

My Boy Monty was a further two and a half lengths away in third when the race ended. Terrific Style and My Boy Monty are both trained by Tom Noble.

For many greyhound racing enthusiasts who were there in the event, boom Queensland sprinter Mr. Metz was so good to have beaten his own record at same track and distance. Mr. Metz won in 28.87, having 0.9 of a second off his past record.

As of now, Mr. Metz has won 16 of own 22 career starts. And the most recent win of the runner granted trainer and Bill Crooks back-to-back Townsville Cup victory. Last year’s edition was won by Ryan’s A Rocket.
