Mega Delight Now Confirmed Dead

Nick SavvaThe parent of greyhound champions Westmead Hawk and Westmead Lord and former British champion, Mega Delight, is now confirmed dead. Nick Savva announced her dead due to serious condition.

Savva said, “it’s a real blow. She’s been in such rude health up until recently – if you’d seen her a few weeks ago she looked fit enough to race. But sadly about a fortnight back she started showing signs of weakness and some distress. I took her to be scanned, and she was diagnosed with bone cancer”.

The June 1999 daughter of Smooth Rumbler was actually able to come back to Ireland to race and prior to the event she was briefly trained by Savva. But then, she got a life-threatening illness and unfortunately, she didn’t make it to still be here. She lost to her illness.

A lot of greyhound racing fans and bettors were saddened by the news, that she already passed away. She was a really good racer then, full of life and can really surpass anything and everything. But naturally, just like us humans, she can’t also be here forever. We will all come to an end, may be it is just that some of us will go ahead of others earlier.

What matters is that Mega Delight left the greyhound racing fans and bettors good memories of her. She will always be remembered as a prolific greyhound, an achiever no doubt. She will never be forgotten.

But the greyhound industry and even the gambling industry can’t be spared from mourning. Mega Delight was a part of these industries for years and they can’t just left her contribution behind.

But life will go on, and Mega Delight’s Westmead Hawk and Westmead Lord can still continue the battle in the race tracks. They will surely be good.
