London Mayor Got Response to Questions on Walthamstow Stadium Issue

At the London Assembly meeting, two questions on Walthamstow Stadium issue were actually posted. And Mayor of London seemed to really care to give response to these questions which made so many concerned individuals glad.

Mayor of London made written response to the questions.

For the first of the two questions, the question about what was discussed at meeting with Save our Stow on Walthamstow Stadium, the response could be considered positive.

Honorable Boris Johnson actually replied: “Save our Stow requested this meeting to personally express their disappointment and frustration on the lack of progress by the current owners, and particularly to explain their opposition to the continued loss of the dog racing. They presented me with their vision of the site to create a new mixed-use leisure facility with the restoration of dog racing, and some affordable residential units. I closed the meeting by promising to speak to the current owners to ascertain what they planned to do with the site, as the present hiatus is not beneficial to anyone.”

And for the second of the two questions, the question about own vision for the Walthamstow Stadium future, just the same kind of response was given.

Mayor Johnson indeed replied: “My vision for the regeneration of this site includes a range of leisure uses and new affordable housing, with heritage assets protected and enhanced, and built and designed to the highest architectural and environmental standards. Ideally, this would restore greyhound racing to this, its primary and historic home, but the viability of, and demand for, greyhound racing remains to be demonstrated conclusively.”

Well, concerned individuals can just feel happy about the questions being answered by the honorable Johnson. They got to understand what most likely the stand of someone like Johnson on the Walthamstow Stadium issue is. And maybe they just got a clue for when the problem be resolved.
