It is true that Jolly Poacher seemed to master a certain course and distance. He actually stretched his undefeated British run to six when having a good turn of early pace at Oxford to take the Blanchford Gold Cup final which is over 450m.
Poacher indeed won his third title over the course and distance. He really showed what he got as Richard Yeates’s greyhound. And also looking back, he paced up very well thus getting a lead at the first bend and was in charge then on as he defeated Brickfield Class. He was able to take a lead of over two lengths in 26.53 sec.
Sporting Benie of Chris Kyme had his first run on better known rivals for the sake of the £1,800 prize. This was at Monmore and he was then considered as 8-1 winner of the feature Peter John Chinn Memorial.
There are a lot of promising greyhounds in the field of greyhound racing. Each has his own level of potential or ability to make a name in the said industry. Jolly Poacher and the rest of the greyhounds mentioned can be considered as promising based on their record as greyhound runner in racing tracks. Jolly Poacher alone, seemed to master a certain course and distance. But it is believed that he also has good chances of succeeding in other courses and distances, of course with the help of Yeates.
Future of greyhound racing and even betting seems to be bright with all of the good things happening and all because of the efforts of the trainers themselves and their greyhounds. Yeates and Poacher just belong into these.
More to come from the tandem of Yeates and Poaches. The greyhound racing in general is just so alive. A lot now are just glad for this.
