Just recently, stewards have finally finalized an inquiry into the positive findings of Nandrolone in the urine sample taken from John Jordan’s Annabeth Chase last 6th of September 2008.
On the records, the inquiry started 17th of November 2008. During the inquiry, evidence was taken from John Jordan, registered trainer of Annabeth Chase. Evidence was attained in writing and via telephone as well.
From John Jordan, his greyhound Annabeth Chase was injected with 1ml of Laurabolin last 27th June, 2008 for the control of oestrus. Hence, he pleaded guilty for the violation of Rule 83(2)(a) which states:
R83 Racing greyhound to be drug free
(2) The owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound-
(a) nominated to compete in an Event;
shall present the greyhound free of any drug.
John Jordan was found guilty in presenting Annabeth Chase 6th of September, 2008 to the Race 5 of Carlos Iga Stake held at Tamworth while under effects of drug. As a result, stewards disqualified Mr. Jordan for a period of five(5) months from 17th of November, 2008 and so as Annabeth Chase from its placing in Race 5 at Tamworth.
Many individuals in the world of greyhound racing and betting were surprised of the turn out of the case of Mr. Jordan as he was known for having a good and clean racing record. He was also long standing as a Tamworth Committee Member and GHRRA’s commitment to drug free racing.
