Irish Greyhound Board Reviewed Prize Money Structure Changes

Irish Greyhound BoardLast December, there were some changes to the prize money structure that were announced. However, before their implementation, Irish Greyhound Board needs to review the changes in consideration to the recent economic-related happenings and even the most possible impact on IGB operational performance.

And yes, Irish Greyhound Board has recently reviewed the prize money structure changes. The governing body once again looked over the prize money grants in consideration to the recent economic-related happenings and even the most possible impact on IGB operational performance.

IGB chief executive Adiran Neilan, after reviewing the prize money grants, indeed said: “The reduction in prize-money grants will impact on the middle tier of races most, but will be introduced in such a way as to accentuate the rewards to be gained by greyhounds improving and making progress through their careers. Better quality racing attracts better attendance from within the sportand generates a higher yield from betting turnover. These elements feed back into a stronger sport for all and that is our ultimate ambition. We do have to match income to outgoings as any business though, and at present we have to amend prize-money to take account of economic reality.”

Well, it seems that the governing body has found the prize money structure changes really worth applying. The governing body has figured out several reasons why they must be applied.

There are some greyhound racing enthusiasts who might not agree that the changes are really worth applying. Their opinion matters as well but then the final say will not be from them. They will need to eventually learn to accept that the changes must be applied. They will need to eventually learn to accept that they have the deal with them. They can’t do anything with the implementation of the changes. They will be implemented whether it is alright for them or not.
