Deputy Premier and Minister for Racing Rob Hulls has just confirmed the completion of $1.9 million Warragul track project. The project, finally can be considered as done, according to Hulls.
At Logan Park, Hulls confirmed that the track upgrade and other racing facilities installation as well as improvement can be considered all finished. The Deputy Premier and Minister for Racing seemed happy to confirm the completion of $1.9 million Warragul track project. Well, who won’t be happy with such an accomplishment that could just improve a lot of things under supervision?
“This upgrade of facilities at Logan Park not only improves the racetrack itself but will also minimize interference and injuries to dogs during races and trials,” Hulls said. “High quality racing infrastructure is the cornerstone of a strong wagering market and, in addition, the safety of competing greyhounds, spectators and everyone involved in race day preparations is absolutely vital to the ongoing health of Victoria’s Greyhound Racing industry.”
“As well as the track upgrade, which has increased the circumference and width of the racing surface,” Hulls added. “The project also provided a new lure rail, lighting system and various other improvements to the racing infrastructure.”
Hulls also revealed that there were several environmental concerns that were considered during the planning stage like for an instance water use.
“The upgrade of this track has also included the installation of a water recycling system capable of saving about eight million liters of water every year,” Hulls said. “With Warragul racing about 90 times a year, this system will see a marked improvement in the efficiency of track watering.”
A lot of things in Warragul greyhound racing were improved because of the track project. Thus, though it was costly for organizations involved in the completion of the said project, just no regret at all for these organizations. The Brumby Labor Government gave more than $1.3 million and Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) gave $565,000 just for the completion of such project.
