The $25,000-to-the-winner final of the Group 2 Ranvet Gold Cup finally took place on a Sunday night at Bulli after being rescheduled because of weather conditions. And the Mark Bell-trained Hooky Booky was able to secure another accomplishment with the event finally taking place.
Hooky Booky struggled to beat the others. But first the racer stayed calm while leaving box one to actually lead all the way on the rails to earn 14th win from 29 career starts.
The Craig Chappelow-trained Pulp was only beaten for the second time at Bulli out of nine starts. And he was not the racer to really be disappointed of as he was able to make it hard for the others to win. Pulp was named as runner-up.
The next group greyhound races will indeed happen Thursday night when the $50,000 Group 1 Cartwright Property Group Gold (710m) will take place at Albion Park and Sandown Park will have the $40,000 Group 3 The Dawson (515m).
The $50,000 Group 1 Cartwright Property Group Gold Cup (710m) will feature the best staying stars. The dogs reported to be entering the event include Lochinvar Vouge, Dashing Corsair, Jarvis Bale, Nellie Noodles, Blue Lorian, Next Top Model, Reign Over Me, and Allen Shaul. And the $40,000 Group 3 The Dawson (515m) will also feature stars including the classy Prankster, Fedex, Warrnambool Classic winner Cosmic Chief, and the Darren McDonald-trained Nova Surf.
Hopefully, the races will happen on the date set and weather conditions won’t be a problem anymore. We hope that Greyhound Racing New South Wales won’t have to issue a notice once again to just inform everyone of certain postponement. For the postponement of the big event, the Ranvet Gold Cup, Greyhound Racing New South Wales actually did. May there actually be no problem this time with the races.
