David Hood was reported to have actually departed from the famous gambling firm William Hill. Well, we believe that he departed from the firm and just gave up his sponsorship and public relations position. It is true that he left and that opted to not be the PR director of William Hill anymore.
With this confirmation, some greyhound racing enthusiasts might just become worried. Hood obviously was an innovative thinker as PR director of William Hill. And to just mention the former Channel 425/854 and other industry-wide commercial projects became good ones because of the influence of Hood.
The gambling firm’s decision to actually return to sponsorship of the Greyhound Derby after not sponsoring it for three years was also influenced by the firm’s former PR director. His departure might just be troubling for some.
The Derby sponsorship agreement was set by both parties to be only effective for 2010. Thus, now that Hood departed from William Hill GRA might just be troubled with the next year’s sponsorship.
Hood worked for William Hill for 18 years. He contributed a lot to the introduction of great things into the business.
Some might just be worried with Hood’s departure. Certain things in the business might change with Hood leaving William Hill and giving up sponsorship and public relations position. But then Hood had his reason for leaving. The many years he spent with the firm must be already enough for him, he have thought that everything he wanted to accomplish with the firm he had already accomplished.
Hood actually said: “I’ve had 18 years there and it is the right time to move on now. I’ve left by mutual agreement and I’m leaving a good team behind me.”
Just all the best for Hood and of course all the best as well for William Hill.
