Trainer of Ten Large Down, Diane Henry, is now facing a GBGB inquiry following the elimination of her kennel star. An incident took place after elimination on Saturday.
GBGB chief executive Barry Faulkner was indeed interviewed after the incident took place.
“An incident had been reported to the local stewards, and the GBGB would look into the matter this week,” said Faulkner.
Henry was reported to be involved in an argument on the track with a parade as the greyhounds were actually being asked to be returned to the kennels.
And the trainer was interviewed as well and she admitted several things.
“I do admit that emotions were running high after the race,” said the trainer. “Ten Large Down is a superstar, and he didn’t have the chance to shine from trap six after totally missing his break.”
“I was confident this boy could have gone all the way, and I was absolutely gutted,” added by the trainer. “Somebody said something – I think it was along the lines of ‘what goes around, comes around’, and I reacted. The comments were well out of order. It just seems like people have been wanting to destroy me and the dog ever since we started having a bit of success together.”
And for the issue that has something to do with throwing the lead, the trainer also confirmed one thing.
“As for people on internet forums saying I threw the lead at Ten Large Down at the pick-up, they must be absolutely mad,” said the trainer. “Yes, I threw the lead down on the track – I’m a very passionate person – but not at the dog.”
Faulkner said that GBGB would look into the matter this week and so better if we all just wait and see what GBGB should eventually say on the matter. For now, in inquiry must be done.
