Just too bad that weeks before the beginning of the Category One event there is no sponsor for Gymcrack. Hall Green is actually in search for a new backer for Gymcrack weeks before the said event starts. Skybet refused to renew sponsorship for 2010.
But Birmingham track’s general manager Stephen Rea confirmed that the much-awaited 480m puppy competition will be pushed through. It will be run no matter what. However, the manager admitted that because of the problem, because of actually not having a sponsor, the prize-money might have to go through restructuring.
The event was set to have a winner’s purse of £10,000. But then it might not have such winner’s purse anymore. And it might just be downgraded.
“Obviously it’s not perfect timing by any means, but I’ve been waiting and waiting for Skybet to confirm and it now seems they cannot,” Rea said.
Of course, we feel sorry now for Hall Green. Too bad that weeks before the beginning of the Category One event there is no sponsor for Gymcrack and Hall Green is in search for one. But we don’t exactly know the reason why Skybet sponsorship was not renewed for this year. Thus, we cannot feel bad towards Skybet.
Let us just hope that pretty soon Hall Green could already have a sponsor for Gymcrack. Yes, the event will still be pushed through despite not having a sponsor but it would still be better if there’d be one. The winner’s purse will remain big and so better.
But if in case no sponsor can be found, the event will still take place. It is only that the winner’s purse might be adjusted. However at least it will still happen, it can still be enjoyed by many. But let us still hope that there’d be a sponsor. Still go for the best!
