Outa There, greyhound being trained by Geoff Mitchell, was disqualified from the 2008 Great Chase because of being positive to swab. Outa There will not compete on Wednesday, 26th of November, 2008 at the MGRA’s Meadows track for the 2008 Great Chase.
Monday afternoon, 24th of November, 2008, Chief Steward of Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV), Dr. Brian Williams, was informed that from the sample taken from Outa There, after competing in a Semi-Final of the 2008 Great Chase at Cranbourne last 18th of November, 2008, there was presence of the drug Dexamethasone.
Stewards then, pursuant to GAR83(5) and GRV LRR44.2, finally disqualified Outa There from the Semi-Final and subsequently from the Grand Final of the 2008 Great Chase.
There will be an inquiry into the sample taken from Outa There following the running of the relevant Semi-Final of the Great Chase at the Cranbourne Greyhound Racing Club. However, the date for the said inquiry is not yet finalized and will be finally known later.
