For punters, Elly Mint is in her good form. After her lightning run at Gosford last week’s Tuesday night, she then shown everyone how good she was in her winning streak to an incredible eight when she exploded from the boxes to lead all the way in the Fortune of War Hotel FFA Stakes over 520 metres at Wentworth Park just last Saturday night.
It was believed that her main rivals were two, Wonderous and Reb Secret. At the event, Wonderous has given a very fast run time. She is one of the state’s premiere sprinters however from the outside, seemed to impossibly cross Elly Mint and so blew out to a $3.80 second favourite with not so much money for her.
Reb Secret got a striking distance early on from Elly Mint, however Elly Mint scorched on the wet track. Down the back straight, Reb Secret had closed the gap. Then some gasps were overheard around traps when Elly Mint seemed vulnerable. But then, she still managed to win comfortably later in 30.01 run time.
It appeared that Wonderous worked home late to seize second placing from Reb Secret who seemed tired.

What’s Up Now for Elly Mint?
After all that she has achieved recently, Elly Mint and her trainer still want more. Elly Mint is now about to take the next step in the quest for nine wins in a row. Soon, she’ll be up for the Christmas Stakes at Wentworth Park. And it seems that she’ll be doing well at the said event as she appears now to be a strong opponent with the ability to be drawn anywhere.
