Tasmanian dog Damek after earning an injury at The Meadows of course should take a rest to recover, to be actually fit again for race events. And caretakers of the dog just decided to let the dog be in Victoria for recovery for more or less two weeks.
Damek indeed hit the rail at the first turn during a heat of a grade five series at Sandown the previous month however after was able to obtain close-up second. The dog’s fitness was then evaluated and turned out to be actually fine. And then was prepared for a heat at The Meadows.
Damek actually did well early part of the race however surprisingly ended up as the first dog beaten and last-placed. From the winner, he ended up almost 10 lengths away.
June Phillips, one of the owners and breeders of Damek, confirmed that the injury was assessed and it turned out that it must be treated before the return of the dog to Tasmania.
“The injury isn’t anything major but enough to warrant treatment over a period of a couple of weeks,” said Philips. “We expect to have him home in Tasmania towards the end of the month and he should be back racing soon after.”
Many Damek fans were saddened by the dog earning an injury at The Meadows. It seemed to them then that bad things coming just one after another. But naturally, they were also hopeful about the dog coming out still a winner despite of such things taking place. They were indeed positive about Damek still being undefeated in a certain way.
Well, we just hope for the best for Damek. And may the dog’s fans finally feel completely good. May Damek finally recover and be actually fit again for races to remain undefeated on his own right.
