Yes, it is confirmed that Cosmic Chief will be representing Victoria at the National Sprint Championship in Adelaide. This greyhound intensely won the Victorian Final at Sandown Park and so was the perfect representative of Victoria at the big event at Angle Park in Adelaide on August 28.
Cosmic Chief started so well from box 3 and continued to race just right to beat Iceman Raikkonen by 3.75 lengths in 29.61. Kennel and littermate Cosmic Planet completed the race in third, a further half length away.
The success of Cosmic Chief took own record to 15 wins from 39 starts and own prize money to more than $132,000. The victory also blew away Brown, with first ever Group 1 finalist.
Heather Collins trained Arsonist will be joining Cosmic Chief in Adelaide for the National Sprint Championship. Arsonist, earlier found it hard to make it and eventually finished fourth, however still managed to continue to the $50,000 to the winner final.
Darren McDonald’s four time Group race winner Pure Octane won the 2005 National Sprint Championship title at Wentworth Park. And Victoria will be into its 13th National Sprint Championship and first since 2005 when Pure Octane won National Sprint Championship title at Wentworth Park.
The National Sprint Championship Grand Final will take place at Angle Park in Adelaide on August 28.
