College Causeway Went Home With Irish Dog of the Year Title

College CausewayThe Pat Buckley-trained College Causeway, after the National Greyhound Awards, actually went home with the Irish Dog of the Year title. He was able to prove to everyone that he really deserved to be the favorite for such a great honor.

The greyhound actually became the favorite for the Irish Dog of the Year title after his sensational win in September in the Paddypower.com Irish Derby Final. And good thing, he was able to prove to everyone that he really deserved to be the bet for such recognition.

There was indeed a significant cheer from a huge group of people when the name of Pat Buckley’s greyhound was called. It seemed that a crowd was really expecting then that the greyhound would actually be the winner of the title.

Go Wild Teddy must be given the credit for bringing College Causeway to life. And credit to be shared with Mike and Vincent McKenna, Frank Culloty and naturally Pat Buckley who raised and guided the greyhound just right.

While Skywalker Queen also made herself important during the National Greyhound Awards, just like College Causeway. She was able to win the title for the bitch category. Most likely, her Irish Oaks win and Dundalk International accomplishment made her worthy then of the said title.

The likes of Corporate Attack, Inny Blue and Maybe Baby were also able to make themselves significant during the National Greyhound Awards. Corporate Attack won the Marathon Racer of the Year title, Inny Blue the Top Sprinter title and Maybe Baby the Brood Bitch of the Year title.

But of course, it was really College Causeway’s moment, winning the Irish Dog of the Year title. It was definitely his time. But just more to come for such great greyhound. We wish him all the best, he has been really great.
