Cesarewitch Still Without Sponsor

OxfordDefinitely not a good news for all greyhound racing fans – Cesarewitch is still without sponsor. Specifically for this year, one of the greyhound racing’s oldest and most successful competitions has still no sponsor.

For many decades, Cesarewitch has been present. And it has made a lot of greyhounds famous, just worth mentioning are the likes of Mick The Miller and He Went Whoosh who have been known to many.

In the past years, the competition didn’t encounter serious problem as far as getting a sponsor is concerned. It is only in this year that it encountered.

Last year, Cesarewitch was sponsored by Hills as part of their Sky Sponsorship package. A lot of followers of the competition actually expected that Hills will again do the same thing but then it turned out that the firm will most likely be up for other events more important in their own point of view.

Promotions manager at the Cowley Circuit, Mick Wheble, explained and said, “We’ve managed to secure sponsors for all our big events bar the Cesarewitch, which we’re very keen to sort out. The race was in June and on Sky last year, but that slot has been taken by our Pall Mall. We still want to run the event during the summer months, but now have some flexibility regarding the date.”

It is definitely not a good news for all greyhound racing fans most especially for those who are really following the Cesarewitch. The competition is indeed one of the greyhound racing’s oldest and most successful competitions and now it has no sponsor for this year. Of all the competitions for this year, it is the one that is still without a sponsor. It is disappointing to hear that one significant competition has still no sponsor at this very moment. But of course, it is a competition that must take place, must be pushed through. By any means, Oxford should find a sponsor for such one important competition.
