Canberra’s feature sprint event was indeed dominated by Miss Peru. Sunday night, on the inaugural Final, the black bitch rushed to the end point of the race to take home the $2,000 for connections and associated charity, the GRNSW Greyhounds As Pets.
Though the Canberra event has attracted some other brilliant greyhounds to race, it was Miss Peru that managed to take home the prize.
Early on, there was trouble that Miss Peru should overcome but then she successfully did so and then beaten Izmir’s Warrior and Artistic Osti in 25.61 that of course led her to winning the prize for her connections and supported charity.
The black bitch was naturally full of strength then to beat anyone, to beat everyone.
Yass trainer Neil Staines slept soundly after the event considering the win of Miss Peru and the win also with Galba Magic and a third to Vallee Rattler.
In the Anytime Fitness 600m, the support final, More To State charged to the line for Gary Smith just outwitting Pack and Guns. The trainer was wrapped with the win, taking eight starts to conquer the ACT track.
While Gunning trainer Andy Lord amended second of Pack and Guns with the solid wins from Brassed Off, Half As Mate and American Spot in the rest of the meeting.
On the other hand, Denice Warren topped her last week amazing results with a win to Berella Laura. Also worth mentioning is the success of I’m The Cure and Highland Abbey for being top qualifiers in the Brian Scott Memorial heats.
And Aranda, after being consistently in place for some weeks, got the chance for being the tenth winner of the evening event. A great delight to connections indeed.
Sunday, racing continued. There will actually be racing every Sunday of this month until next month.
