The title Greyhound of the Year is the most sought-after title. All contenders are vying for it which then makes all greyhound trainers and bettors look after for the December awards ceremony.
So far, betting world of greyhound racing bets that Ted Soppitt’s dog, Bubbly Totti, will put himself bang in competition for the Greyhound of the Year title with St Leger victory at Wimbledon just weeks ago.
Bubbly Totti is the best bet by bettors, who will actually bag the title. Totti duly justified the odds and, having won the Yorkshire Leger and run-up in both the Scottish Derby and English Derby consolation final. In this connection, Totti will be up for London first quarter of 2009 along with other contenders for an award ceremony. Other contenders include Boherna Best, Lenson Joker, and Flying Winner.

Boherna Best now appears a real spoiler to the Greyhound of the Year claims of superstar Bubbly Totti even that of the next in line Lenson Joker’s. Barrie Draper’s greyhound, has been one of the revelations of the past few months and has been improving significantly in all aspects.
Considering his place at Monmore’s Gold Cup, the Laurels at Belle Vue and at a minor competition, Boheran Best can be a real spoiler. For the record, he now has nine wins from a dozen outings.
