Greyhound racing and betting enthusiasts are saddened by the news regarding Ard Beauty’s retirement because of a recurring wrist problem. The Darren Whitton-trained bitch won 26 of her 78 races and considering this, it is really sad to hear that she will just be kept in the breeding stocks and never to return to racing tracks once again.
Beauty can be considered as a consistent and really versatile bitch. She was able to own a track record of over Henlow’s 692m, was able to win overtrips ranging from 480m to 790m and also was able to encompass eight various tracks.
Beauty’s owner, Mitchell Nicolau, in a way might be also feeling down. The owner believes so much on the bitch’s traits and potential and very thankful for the two seasons full of pleasure that she has given. The owner actually said that, “she’s been a fantastic bitch and gave us great pleasure over the past two seasons”.
However, it might be true that everything that is good will never last. Like Beauty’s stay on the racing tracks, it will never last. Now the time has come for her to say farewell to the tracks she loved being at.
“Unfortunately, she has been carrying this injury for the past three months, and time has finally caught up with her. The plan is to send her to Droopys Maldini when she comes in season”, said by Nicolau.
It is actually better for Beauty to stop running on the tracks considering her wrist problem that is recurring. She has already contributed a lot to the industry, proved what she got as racer and of course really pleased her trainer and owner. She deserves to rest and have her health be taken cared of. This has a downside but at least she will eventually be good.
